Getting to Mount Washington

Mt. Washington is located on north central Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. It is a 45 minute drive south of Campbell River, a 30 minute drive from the Comox Valley and just over an hour's drive north of Nanaimo.

The Comox Valley and Campbell River airports are serviced daily with commercial flights from Vancouver. There are also direct flights from Calgary to Comox via WestJet. A daily shuttle bus operates during the winter months from Nanaimo, Parksville and Qualicum Beach.

If you want to drive Mt Washington is also easily accessible via ferry from Horeshoe Bay in Vancouver to Departure Bay in Nanaimo. Please check the BC Ferries website for ferry schedules.

 

About Mount Washington

Mt. Washington, on north central Vancouver Island, is perhaps best known for it's great ski conditions, often lasting from late fall to the end of April. But there is more to Mt. Washington than just fantastic skiing (both Alpine and Nordic of course), snowboarding and winter sports.

Location! Location! Location! Much of Mount Washington’s attraction lies in the resort’s unique Island location. The scenery is unbelievable and summer is a great time to enjoy it. On a clear summer's day visitors are rewarded with incredible views from the summit, which is over 5,000 feet above sea level and accessible by the summer chairlift. There are breath taking sights of the Comox Glacier, the Straight of Georgia and even Mt. Baker in Washington State.

 

Gateway to Strathcona Park

Mount Washington Ski Resort also acts as a gateway to spectacular Strathcona Provincial Park, BC's oldest provincial park. Strathcona Park boasts numerous lakes and hiking areas and some of the nicest walking trails Vancouver Island has to offer. When you head out to explore make sure you don't leave your Dragonfly Suite without your camera.
